My family is obnoxious when it comes to grapes, seriously.  My house is like the Bermuda Triangle for grapes – they enter the doorway and then BANG they’re gone no trace of them to be found.

I’ve wanted to add grapes to our backyard haven for years but honestly didn’t know the first thing about them.  Like where to plant them, are they going to grow in our climate, are they going produce enough for all my efforts.

After doing some research and talking to the amazing Tracy Scarfe at Misty Gardens (she’s so knowledgable she’s my go to for all gardening) we decided on two different types Prairie Star and Valiant.  I’m super excited to see what the end result will be this fall for our first year!

Just in case these tasty little buggers weren’t enough for you to gobble them up they are also have amazing health benefits.

June is a very special month for me – not only are we coming to the end of another school year but the days are longer and the weather is perfect for sitting outside with family and friends enjoying a nice cool beverage. Yes these are all wonderful things that I enjoy however June is extremely special for me because that is when I decided enough was enough and I start my healing journey not realizing where it would take me.

In one year I have gone off anti-depressants, become more aware of stagnate habits and beliefs that were a direct cause of many physical issues I was having, I have a stronger and more meaningful relationship with my husband and son, I wake up each morning with a more clear vision on life, plus I became a certified BodyTalk practitioner so I am to give back and help others with their healing journey just to name a few. How amazing is all of that!!!

In celebration of all of this I am paying it forward!! From now until June 30, 2019 I am offering all BodyTalk, Lymphatic Drainage and Access Bar sessions for only $25 per modality session.

Are you ready to take that next step???

I’m not a gourmet chef at all.  When meal planning I pick the easiest and quickest meals possible because I don’t like cooking.  That’s why I love romaine lettuce!  I can guarantee that if you happen to get a look at my grocery list the first item on it will be romaine lettuce.  I buy at least 2 packages each week because it’s such an easy side dish or meal on it’s own.  Bonus it’s loaded with amazing benefits.

Check out Dr. Axes article with all of the benefits and nutritional facts here.

Here are some of the great additions that we commonly use to spruce up this great vege!

  • tomatoes
  • avocados
  • shredded cheese
  • croutons (Costo has a huge bag of parmesan/garlic and they are delicious)
  • breaded chicken strips (again Costco has awesome chicken strips in a 2kg bag)
  • PC tortilla strips (my fav are the chili lime)

Man I could go on forever with this list but you get the idea on how super easy this can be.

I decided that this year during our summer break from fitness classes I was going to try a few different types of workouts. I like workouts that are quick 30 mins or less when I’m at home as I feel this is the easiest way to fit it into my morning routine.
Anyways I started the 21 Day Tabata Yoga Body Challenge by DailyOM last Thursday. I did Thursday and Friday and then we were busy this weekend so I wasn’t able to get Saturday and Sunday done so I started back with Day 1 today. I’m loving this challenge so far – very quick and in my opinion extremely effective so far. Oh my goodness I can safely say there are some muscles I have been neglecting. 🤪🤪
The instructor Sadie is very easy to follow and the whole workouts are less then 30 mins including a wonderful warm up and cool down with Yoga poses.
Highly recommend this challenge that you can easily pop into your morning routine.

I really struggled this week to figure out what we would be having for supper – not sure exactly why but I couldn’t get past looking for quick and easy meals for next weeks meal plan.  Maybe it’s because my brain is still thinking life will be crazy because of teaching 3 nights a week?!?!?!  Who knows!  All I know is when you take the time to meal plan and prep it goes a long way on your pocket book and waist line!

Monday:  4 Cheese Spaghetti Squash & BBQ Pork Chops

This recipe calls for spaghetti but I will substitute with spaghetti squash for a healthier version

Tuesday: Cheesecake Factory Louisiana Chicken Pasta

Wednesday: Tator Tot Casserole

This has been a family favourite for years.  You can substitute the mushroom soup with plain greek yogurt if you so choose.  I use frozen green beens from the garden but you can use any type of veggie.

Thursday:  Instant Pot Lasagna Soup
